The Viaduct: This heritage listed railway bridge near rupertswood was constructed c. 1859 on the Melbourne-Sandhurst (now Melbourne-Bendigo) rail line. It consists of 5 semi circular arched spans on piers. The bluestone faced viaduct is considered to be of ‘Classical revival engineering tradition’ in design terms. |

Emu Bottom: The Homestead at Emu Bottom is the oldest existing farmhouse constructed by settlers in Victoria. Built c. 1836, it is a rare example of early Australian colonial architecture. Nearby is the Emu Bottom Wetlands reserve, home to the Platypus Walking Trail. |

Wurundjeri Earth Rings: 5 Earth rings in the Sunbury area, created by first nations people, were only recently rediscovered in the 1970’s. Much of their history has been lost but it is believed they were created potentially 1000 years ago, and may have been for ceremonial purposes. |

Birthplace of The Ashes: One of crickets greatest traditions, the small urn that is the trophy awarded to the winner of the test series between Australia & England can be traced back to its origins at Rupertswood in Sunbury, where it was presented to England Captain Ivo Bligh, by Janet, Lady Clarke. Lady Clarke and her husband (Sir William, who was president of the Melbourne Cricket Club at the time) resided at Rupertswood, which hosted a friendly match against the English team during their 1882-83 tour of Australia. |
